Pharmacy First

Your local pharmacy is an easily accessible place if you have run out of medicines you are prescribed on a repeat basis and cannot miss a dose but your surgery is closed.

You can receive practically instant advice about how best to manage the majority of minor ailments that are generally self limiting and about which most people will not need to consult with a GP.  If you need to see a GP, they will advise you of this also.

If you live with a chronic health problem, for example diabetes or heart disease, community pharmacies may offer a variety of support and advice on how to manage your well being, including advice about any medicines prescribed for you or with lifestyle choices and changes such as stopping smoking.
